The President of India unfurls the national flag and the national anthem is played. It is a day of national pride and unity for all Indians.

The Republic Day celebration in India is a grand and elaborate affair, held every year at Rajpath, New Delhi. The main event is a parade that starts from the Rashtrapati Bhavan and proceeds towards the India Gate.
